The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) is looking at a long-term networking with the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) for its various activities and projects.

This developed as the BCCP announced that they are organizing trade missions to the Philippines in September and November.

BCCP Chairman Chris Nelson said that the ECCP is a key part in terms of their network here in the country.

“We meet with them every month and ECCP Vice President Henry Schumacher is a lead figure. We work together. It is logical since we are both from Europe,” Nelson said.

Nelson added that they are looking at a joint project with the ECCP during the first quarter of 2016, which will showcase various fixtures and fittings in the real-estate sector.

Nelson said that beyond the ECCP, they will also look at possibilities in cooperating with other business chambers in the country.

Meanwhile, the September trade mission will involve at least seven companies that are looking to explore market potentials in the country.

Among the companies that are expected to come will be those from software and information technology, financial services, pharmaceutical and distribution.

The companies are expected to meet with Department of Trade and Industry officials and local business counterparts.

On the other hand, the November trade mission, will not be industry specific but will have one-to-one meetings between delegates and potential local partners.

“We want to bring inquiries to a more serious stage,” Nelson said, while adding that it is mutually beneficial to both countries.

He said the BCCP wants to make United Kingdom (UK) companies aware of the Philippines, how it has performed economically, and the opportunities present.

“We have more social and business events on our calendar and we collaborate with key business players, government, local and international partners particularly the UK Trade & Investment to ensure we deliver the best service that our members deserve,” Nelson said.

The BCCP currently has 250 member-companies. It promotes members’ interests with government and business organizations in the Philippines and the UK in collaboration with the British Embassy, UKTI, and other partners.
