The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) together with the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH is scheduled to hold solar energy forums next week.
Dubbed as the "First Philippine-German Solar Energy Forum" the event will be held at the Peninsula Hotel in Makati City on November 21 and then repeated again at the Casino Español in Cebu City on November 24. The forum is part of the German government's initiative: "renewables -- Made in Germany" program which seeks to introduce new technology to countries that have been identified as having rich renewable-energy (RE) potential.
The two one-day forum will feature presentations from some ofthe country's key industry leaders in the solar-energy sector, including the Department of Energy, Philippine Solar Power Alliance and the German Solar Power Association.
Representatives from eight German RE firms Donaüer Solartechnik Vertriebs GmbH, Energiebau Solarstomsysteme GmbH, HoppeckeBatterienGmbH & Co. KG, IBC Solar AG, lnutec Solarzentrum GmbHi.G., Schott Solar AG, SMA SolarTechnology AG, and Sonnenwerft GmbH are taking part in the forum.
Business executives and govemment officials attending the forum will be briefed on the challenges and potential of solar energy in the Philippines, latest German high technology available for the Philippine solar energy market, innovative rural electrification solutions using solar energy, and solar market development from an SME perspective.
