CITY OF SAN PEDRO, LAGUNA - With its value manifesto, "Sulong, Pusong Alaska!" Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) celebrated its golden jubilee last 24 September 2022, at its Manufacturing Plant in Laguna. Attended by over 600 employees, workers, and former executives, this commemoration marked another milestone for the company, which was established to nourish Filipino dreams.

"As we have reached our 50th year, we still continue to further our purpose of providing affordable and accessible nutrition to every Filipino family. As we achieved brand leadership in 1972, we have been unstoppable since then," said Tarang Gupta, AMC Managing Director.

Founded by Wilfred Uytengsu, Sr., in 1972, AMC started from its humble beginnings as a budding dairy company to the market leader it is today; Alaska Milk has truly branded its name to the heart of every Filipino. With its history of 50 progressive years, Alaska Milk has no shortage of memorable feats. "Wala pa rin tatalo sa Alaska" has become and cemented itself as one of the most memorable taglines in advertising history.

And on March 9, 2012, Alaska Milk became a part and subsidiary of Royal FrieslandCampina after establishing itself as the leading milk company in the Philippines. Royal FrieslandCampina, or RFC, is a Dutch multinational dairy cooperative based in Amersfoort, Netherlands. It is considered one of the world's largest dairy cooperatives, with over 18,000 member dairy farmers in 34 countries.

"Hindi natin makakamit ito kundi hindi rin dahil sa bawat isa sa atin - tayong mga empleyado ng Alaska. We are the heart of the company. Tayo ang puso ng Alaska," exclaimed Edalyn Hadjula-Legarde, AMC People & Culture (HR) Director as she emphasized the importance and role of every Alaska Milk employee to the success of the brand.

This day-long feast was made more exciting with fun-filled games, raffles, and giveaways prepared by the different AMC departments with their various booth gimmicks.

One of the highlights of the event was the first-ever Alaska's Got Talent. Various AMC employees showcased their singing prowess and comedic shticks as they performed their way to the championship. Crisanto Itol from the Customer Supply Chain Department was eventually declared the winner with his powerful rendition of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Another culmination of the celebration was the fashion show featuring the entries of Pack to Pak. Pack to Pak is a nationwide contest that aims to upcycle single-use plastics, especially Alaska Milk packaging and wrappers, into reusable and sustainable day-to- day products.

"It is not without a reason that we say "Wala pa rin tatalo sa Alaska." And that is not because of how many cans of milk we sell, but because of the effect we have engraved on the lives of every Filipino," concluded Gupta.

For over 50 years, Alaska Milk has been there to spark inspiration, ignite change, and fuel the passion of the nation. And for the next 50 years or so, Alaska Milk Corporation will still strive and continue the unceasing mission to provide and bring forth nutrition in every plate and glass of each home – nutrisyon sa bawat plato at baso. This mission, together with the vision for the people and the country, is what makes Alaska uniquely Alaska – a company by the people, by the people, and for the people.

Indeed, wala pa rin tatalo sa #AlagangAlaska.
