The Philippines stands at a critical crossroads. As one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable nations, it faces stronger storms, rising sea levels, and increasing pressure on its energy and water systems. Every project built today will shape the resilience of future communities.

Artelia Philippines positions itself to meet this challenge. The company brings global engineering expertise to local developments, delivering innovative solutions across industry, retail, renewable energy, and infrastructure. As part of the Artelia Group—an global leader in design engineering and project management headquartered in France—it applies world-class knowledge to the unique conditions of the Philippines.

Sustainability is central to its mission. Through RENEW, a cluster of market lines covering Renewable Energy, Environment, and Water (including Ports and Maritime), Artelia integrates international standards with local insight to design solutions that endure and help communities and industries thrive for generations.

I. Renewable Energy: Powering the Philippines Sustainably

The Philippines remains heavily dependent on imported fossil fuels, grappling with rising energy costs and increasing regulatory pressure to reduce emissions. For businesses, investing in renewable energy lowers long-term operating expenses, strengthens environmental credibility, and enhances overall resilience.

The shift to renewable energy benefits the entire nation—reducing emissions, cutting long-term costs, and supporting a cleaner, more sustainable future. Artelia Philippines guides clients through this transition with proven engineering expertise in solar, wind, hydro, and waste-to-energy systems.

With more than a decade of experience in the renewable energy sector, beginning with hydropower and later expanding into solar and wind, the company brings both technical depth and innovative thinking to every engagement. Backed by decades of global experience, Artelia delivers projects that are technically sound, financially viable, and environmentally responsible. It also designs industrial wastewater treatment plants and builds strong partnerships with suppliers and EPC contractors to ensure sustainable operations.

Its recent projects demonstrate this commitment:

Palau Solar Farm (Client: JUWI) – Completed in 2024, Artelia provided end-to-end technical assistance from construction to commissioning. Its engineers remained on-site for nearly two years, coordinating logistics, supervising installation, and ensuring compliance with operational and environmental standards.

Camiguin Solar Power Project (Client: Camigreen Inc.) – Ongoing in 2025, this hydrological study assesses flood risks and water behavior to inform responsible solar development. Artelia collects and analyzes meteorological and hydrological data, performs flood discharge computations, and delivers detailed reports and maps to guide project design.

Salug Daku Mini Hydropower Plant (Client: Clean N Green Energy Solutions, Inc.) – Completed in 2017, the company conducted due diligence covering civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. It prepared specifications, layouts, and drawings, performed bid evaluations, and carried out value engineering to optimize the project’s design.

II. Environment: Protecting Nature, Creating Value

Companies today face rising expectations related to regulatory compliance, climate adaptation, and stakeholder engagement. Organizations that proactively manage environmental risks avoid penalties, strengthen reputations, and build long-term sustainability.

Artelia Philippines supports this shift by helping clients meet and exceed environmental responsibilities with practical, science-based solutions. Its Environmental and Social (E&S) services comply with both Philippine regulations and international lender standards, including:

  • Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD)
  • Environmental Compliance Certificates (ECC)
  • Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA)
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) support
  • Biodiversity and sustainability studies
  • Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS)
  • Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAP)
  • Gap analyses

Artelia’s approach empowers clients to move beyond basic compliance toward genuine environmental leadership.

III. Water (including Ports and Marine): Managing Life’s Most Vital Resource

The Philippines faces significant risks from floods, water scarcity, and aging infrastructure. Effective water management and resilient coastal systems are essential to protect communities, minimize business disruptions, and enable growth.

Artelia Philippines plans, designs, and implements river basin projects, irrigation systems, dams, and flood protection works that strengthen climate resilience. For industrial clients, it engineers water intakes and outfalls that balance performance with environmental protection. Along the nation’s coastlines, the company develops ports, terminals, marinas, and coastal defenses that support economic activity while protecting marine ecosystems.

Global Expertise, Tailored to the Philippines

Through RENEW, Artelia Philippines bridges global innovation with local sustainability goals. Its engineers combine advanced methods with deep knowledge of Philippine conditions to deliver projects that last, work with nature, and strengthen communities.
