Course Description:

For many years, Conventional Activated Sludge and Sequencing Batch Reactors (SBR) have been used for the biological treatment of wastewater. Studies have shown that the majority of the power requirement of treatment plants is attributable to the biological process. As energy costs are on the rise, newer technologies are being developed to move treatment plants toward a more energy neutral state.

This presentation will focus on innovative treatment technologies for reducing power consumption by 60% for existing conventional treatment systems while at the same time providing additional capacity for future expansion. The technology utilizes a unique device for combining fixed film treatment with an activated sludge process. With hundreds of installation across Europe, US and in the Philippines, this system is proven to save energy, footprint, and overall project costs.

Training Objective:

At the end of the session we aim to educate participants on how to reduce the operating costs of their wastewater treatment plants and creating additional treatment capacity with available innovative technologies, tools and practices.
