Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority

The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) is a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) established under Republic Act No. 9490, as amended by RA 10083. Located in Casiguran, Aurora, APECO manages a 13,000-hectare economic zone strategically situated along the Philippine Pacific Eastern Seaboard. Its proximity to the Philippine Rise and the Sierra Madre’s natural barrier makes it ideal for industries aligned on Food Security, Energy Security and National Security. APECO's mandate centers on promoting economic growth, sustainable development, and supporting the local community by facilitating partnerships aimed at encouraging the establishment of infrastructure for defense industries, renewable energy projects, and tourism initiatives. Current priorities include enabling revenue-generating opportunities such as construction of ready-for-occupancy facilities, establishment of commercial hubs, and logistics centers, which positions the zone as a key destination for innovation and economic activity in the region through the offer of tax incentives and very competitive lease rates.
